Southern Fried Chicken Steak with mashers & slaw It's true. Southern fried deliciousness has traveled 5 miles North of Ithaca and a long way from home to hang out at the Rogues' Harbor Inn. Locally Sourced BBQ for 4th of July in the Finger Lakes

Image
We're all dressed up for Independence Day, buntings, flags... We go all out, but it's really about our locally sourced fare paired with our craft brews. Our latest Brewer's Choice is a Summer Sour Ale and it pairs well with every course. It's the epitome of summer, 4th of July BBQ and craft beer. What's not to love. Chefs Anthony and Vincent are preparing a dry rubbed, slow roasted pulled pork from the Piggery, local, organic, happy pig, and a spicy slaw to go with. There'll be corn bread, too. They've drawn inspiration from our nation's colors as well. For red, white and blue vegetarian fare our chefs are creating a salad with fresh strawberries, blueberries and local Lively Run Feta cheese over organic greens. Save room for red, white and blue dessert, too- homemade vanilla mousse with strawberries and blueberries. YUM. Our specials will be offered all weekend until they sell out. Get 'em while they last. The Inn has stood witness to many of

Rogues' Harbor Brewing Crafts a Sour Ale for Summer in the Finger Lakes

Image
Our Summer Sour Ale pairs well with Finger Lakes Cheeses Rogues' Harbor Brewing Co's latest Brewer's Choice is here. It's a Summer Sour Ale. Sours have been sweeping the craft brewing scene for the past two summers. Immediately embraced by beer geeks, we think it's gone mainstream this year. Our brewer's were excited to jump on board and brew one for us this summer and the time has come. Sours are brewed by introducing an acidifying bacteria during the fermentation process. They embrace the tart side of beer and are food friendly. We like that. Ours is a naturally soured ale, bright golden in color, crisp and refreshingly tart. It's a warm weather beer, such a relief from the heat of a blazing summer day. We think it pairs well with our Finger Lakes Cheese Board and Fried Calimari appetizers. For an entree pairing, we think it's a winner with our Herb & Parmesan Haddock and Sun Dried Tomato Polenta Salad. It even compliments our Wild Berry Cob

It's almost Father's Day (this Sunday, June 15!) and we're hosting our third annual Wild West themed Father's Day dinner. We'll be serving from 4 till 9 pm and if you dress for the occasion ie: cowboy boots, hat and/or glorious handle bar mustache you will be entered to win a $50 gift card. Chef Anthony has created some wild west and southwestern inspired specials featuring locally sourced ingredients as always. We'll be serving up Glenwood Farms, Ithaca, NY, buffalo steaks and Piggery, Ithaca, NY, pulled pork and even chili chocolate pudding for dessert with fresh local cream. It's always a fun day. So bring Dad, wear your cowboy hat and boots, convince him to wear his too, and try some western "camp fire" fare. Reservations suggested (607) 533-3535.

Mother's Day Dinner 2014 at the Rogues' Harbor Inn

Image
Mother's Day is here already! It's this Sunday, May 11 and we'll be serving dinner all day from noon till 8 pm. and our brew house tasting room will be open from noon till 4 pm both Saturday and Sunday. It's such a wonderful day, the whole family out with Mom. Chef Anthony has designed specials for the day with Mom (and warm weather ) in mind. All with wine and beer pairing suggestions as always. The Seafood Turnover is my favorite. It's filled with shrimp, scallops, crab, roasted red peppers & Parmesan cheese, then served over a creamy vodka sauce. Save room for dessert: Strawberry Shortcake Napoleon with chocolate mousse layered in a shortcake biscuit topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Yum. Mom deserves it. Call or email today for reservations (607) 533-3535 or reservations@roguesharbor.com

Easter Dinner at the Rogues' Harbor Inn 2014

Image
Roasted Rack of Lamb with Swedish Hill Cabernet Franc It's finally Easter and that means spring, warm weather foods & a new seasonal dinner menu at Rogues'. We have: honey apricot Berkshire pork loin (GF), basil walnut pesto linguine (vegan), loaded steak fries with ale infused cheddar sauce, polenta and sun dried tomato salad (vegan, GF) and lots more. Yum. We're hoping the

Saint Patrick's "Weekend" 2014 at Rogues'

Image
I grew up around Boston, a very Irish city, the Celtics, Southie, yeah...Anyway, only the actual day, March 17, was St. Patrick's Day. Everyone went all out, all green, all beer, heaping plate of corned beef and cabbage, Irish fiddle music everywhere, dancing, the whole Irish enchilada as it were. It's a wicked big day.I loved it. But here it seems to be more of a weekend event, so we're going with it this year since St. Pat's falls on a Monday. Monday is an underwhelming day for such a jubilant holiday. So, we declare it St. Patrick's weekend. Meaning, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Chocolate Guinness Pudding, Cheddar Potato Soup, and craft beer, lots and lots of craft beer will be served Saturday, Sunday and MONDAY, March 15, 16 & 17. Our brewers have even crafted their first IPA just for the occasion. Not an Irish brew by any means, but we think it goes well with corned beef and cabbage. So why not? Saturday isn't technically St. Patrick's day either...B

PINTS FOR PUPS, Our Annual SPCA Brew Fest Fundraiser 2014

Image
Rosie & Jazzy There are about a million reasons to love dogs. My families' two rescues are part of our family (two boxers, Jazzy's from the SPCA). I can't imagine life without them. I am grateful and in awe of Tompkin's County SPCA and all the hard work they do. Being a "no kill" shelter takes a lot of dedication, hard work and money. That's where we come in. Every year we host a local micro brew fest which benefits the Tompkins County SPCA called, "Pints for Pups." This year's will be held Thursday, February 20,  from 6 - 10 pm at our restaurant and brew house. Generous local breweries joining us and pouring tastings: Bacchus Brewing, Band Wagon Brewing, Hopshire Farm Brewery, Rogues' Harbor Brewing Co., Roosterfish Brewing, Seneca Lodge Brewing and Wagner Brewing. We can not wait to try all the craft brews they're bringing. A $15 donation gets you samples from everyone. Wrist bands can be purchased at the door or at Rogues

Gathering with friends, hoisting a pint, feasting...It's our second annual chili fest Super Bowl Sunday and Chef Anthony has prepared  for the day.
